After mom passed away I found a diary that was written by her aunt Any back in Germany in 1928.  Below you will see pictures of the pages written in German and translated for us by my loving cousin Jorg.

Beginning of May 1928

Additional Pages Translated by Jörg

Jörg's email arrived January 4th, 2016 with 6 additional translated pages for us to enjoy.  This is the message he sent along with them.

Dear Kassie, dear Ray!
We wish you and your family a merry Christmas!
My brother Christian and his family are also sending their greetings!

You will find the next text Emmi translated further down. It is very beautiful even if it was not written by Susis mother! -I did not know that the sister of your grandmother, aunt Any, was a musician. Family Wiese listened to music a lot. Uncle Otto played the violin to us on our birthday parties when we were children. He had an amazing vibrato. His brother Adolf, the youngest one of the Wiese siblings even was a career musician. He had an orchestra and performed alternately with the musician Bernhard Ette in the “Wintergarten” in Berlin.

Music by Bernhard Ette, Adolf Wiese´s music must have sounded similarly:

PS: I sent an email to the Settje-Family in Bremen asking for the letters from America. If they answer me I will inform you!
